Estimated Reading Time: 3 minutes

Welcome to the Tarot Blog Hop!

An international group of tarotists are all writing on the same topic and then linking to each other so that the reader can hop from one blog to the next, seeing all the permutations and facets that the topic inspired in different writers.

Our assignment for this Hop was provided by Arwen Lynch-Poe of Tarot by Arwen, who gave us the fun task of a Tarot Blog Hop Secret Santa Gift Exchange.

Peace in Joy

I knew right away what I wanted to do for the Denver Tarot Convention Blog. But for my own blog I couldn’t think of anything. Time constraints precluded me from developing something brand new and I couldn’t think of anything I already had completed that I hadn’t previouslyย shared on this blog, my website, the Denver Tarot Meetup Files, or other blogs or websites that I occasionally write for. I found myself saying to myself, I have nothing left to give. I meant it literally, but laughed because more commonly that phrase is used figuratively to express that one is out of personal, psychic, and emotional energy.

That was true for me as well to a degree, having had a busy month. I thought, I just need some stillness. What with planning the DTM Holiday Party, putting together and printing my 2016 Class Brochure, being on a panel of astrologers looking at The Astrology of 2016, visiting aย new meetup…I was exhausted from having too much fun! I decided I needed some peace amidst the joy.

So my gift to you is about twenty minutes of slow down. Here is a guided meditation I recorded several years ago. It is designed to take you on an inner journey to ask a guide about a symbol you would like to know more about. This is something you can do with a tarot card (I use a similar meditation for a soul card exploration), a particular detail of a tarot card, a personal symbol, or an Empyrean Key symbol (for more information and the basic EK starter kit, click here).

IV of Swords from the Morgan-Greer Tarot by Bill Greer, Lloyd Morgan, published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

Although thoughts of Temperance, the Star, or the Ace of Cups often can speak to the kind of stillness I was in search of, the card I picked is one of my favorites: the Four of Swords from the Morgan-Greer Tarot. This card feels both restful and peaceful, but I’m always intrigued by the fourth sword in the background, beyond the boundary of the arch, hovering in the mist. I always envision the knight leaving his body and following the sword in an astral journey. Where will it lead? Whether it’s to an adventure, an exploration, or a deepening truth, I hope the guided meditation leads you on a similar quest!

Meditation for Exploring a Symbol

I wish you crystal clear moments of quiet, clarity and peace amidst the raucous joy of your holidays!

  1. I think everyone here could use a bit of peace and stillness. It’s the end of the year, we’re exhausted. Thank you for this! ๐Ÿ™‚
