Estimated Reading Time: 2 minutes

One of my Facebook friends mentioned that a specific organization offered tarot readings online, and asked if they were legitimate or if the recipient of the reading has to be present.

Here’s my answer to her:

Bataleur doing online readingA lot of times you get out of something what you put into it–there’s a lot of truth to this in terms of tarot. I do my own readings online or through an app if I’m not within arm’s reach of a deck. And they work just fine. Of course, I’m doing my own interpretation of the cards, not using the prepared blurbs. But a lot of the online sites and apps are really nicely designed by real tarot readers and have excellent prepared blurbs. So I would suggest trying it and seeing how it works for you.

Also, I’m not sure exactly what type of online readings you’re referring to–the organization you mentioned might be linking to online readings done by their members, in which case you are getting a real, personalized reading with an actual tarot reader. It’s possible they are students or in training, so maybe a little less experienced than a full-fledged professional, but so often in this type of art, experience is not always a prerequisite for quality. And no, you don’t have to be present for it to work. I have international clients whom I’ve never met, and apparently my readings are always accurate and helpful for them!
